I am going to be at the LA Rock’N Comic Con this weekend (May 28-30) at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, California and will be set up in Artist Alley booth #914 with Shawn Granger from King Tractor Press. I’ll be there showing off artwork and new Nifty Comics merchandise from the Cadre and ElfSong, along with sketching like a madman. In fact, I’m doing free sketchcards for anyone that comes up and recites a really cool dirty limerick.

Mat Nastos appearing at Star Wars Day at Frank & Son Show

Hey, all!

Just got word that I’m going to be a part of Star Wars Day on February 20, 2010 at the Frank & Son show here in Southern California. The event is going to be insane, with Ray Park (Darth Maul), Daniel Logan (Boba Fett) and the 501st all making an appearance. I’ll be there doing Star Wars sketchcards. I believe we’re going to have a table right up front near the guests, but the Comic Book Art Institute Booth (#807) will be open and active with some additional Star Wars related artwork and merchandise, so make sure to check us out at both locations.

First two Sketchcard Sets by Mat Nastos

As many of you know, I’ve been on a bit of a sketchcard kick of late. The format is an absolute blast to work in and I’ve done a bunch of cards over the past month. Following that topic, I’d like to announce that I’ll be participating in my first couple of official trading/sketch card sets. The first one is for the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation (http://www.treasurechest.org). The Treasure Chest Foundation is dedicated to helping out kids with cancer and I’m honored to get to be a part of that. I’ll be doing 50 original art sketchcards for the set, which is due out later on this year. I believe the event takes place at the Chicagoland Entertainment Collectors Expo.

The second set is for the fine people over at 5Finity (http://www.5finity.com/) and is called “P’Ups,” which is short for “Pin Ups and Puppies.” That’s right, I’ll be doing 30 cards for the trading card set dedicated to hot chicks and dogs…two things I love.

Keep an eye on this spot in the upcoming weeks for a glimpse into the art I’m producing for the sets and for more information on when they’ll be released.

I’m ultra excited today because I’ve finally gotten the first 3 ElfSong t-shirts up and available on CafePress. Visitors already??

The past few days have given me a bit of a shock. You see, I’ve started ElfSong.com earlier this week as a place for me to post artwork for the comic, give out information and run a webcomic introduction. As of right now there’s nothing really on here for anyone tosee. The shock has come in the form of a large influx of visitors to the site!

Well, for those of you who have somehow stumbled on to ElfSong.com, welcome! I’ll be posting more artwork next week and will be launching the first ElfSong comic in November. That will run for a few weeks and lead into the ElfSong comic magazine in early 2010. I can’t really give an exact date at this point because I’m putting everything I’ve got into the artwork and don’t want to rush the release.

If you have found yourself here in the beginning of the website, drop me a note or leave a comment and let me know how the heck you found it! I’d love to know…and, I’d love to know what you think of the artwork, especially as I get more added in.

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get a website up and running for the ElfSong comic. Here you’ll find lots of art and information on the new comic by me, Mat Nastos. I’ll be running an introductory web comic starting in December, which will lead into the print comic in early 2010. Until then, enjoy the site!
